This month is really big for me.

I don’t know what my future will look like. And while that uncertainty would normally send my mind racing, I have been doing the work to set fear aside- at least for today. I am choosing to hold onto hope. Onto faith. Onto the belief that the love and kindness I try to offer the world will carry me through, regardless of how things unfold.

Because no matter what happens, I know I will be okay.

Today, after enjoying a lovely lunch with a beautiful friend, I’m taking a little time just to sit, write, and smile.

I’ve said before that I don’t usually put much stock in predictions, fortune cookies, zodiac signs, or numerology. But today, I leaned into the Lunar New Year- because honestly, who am I to argue with an entire culture? Lol.

And if I’m being completely honest… I need this today.

One of the most meaningful experiences for me is when a stranger stops and takes a moment to tell me how they see me.
Light.
Joy.
Peace.

It has taken me a long time to get here. To become someone who is not defined by everything that has happened to her, but instead by the choices she makes every single day- even on the days when getting out of bed feels impossibly hard.

I am surrounded by love, luck, and light.

The last month was pretty rough. But what carried me through were the people who showed up for me- with love, with prayers, with protection.

Because of them, I am leaning fully into this new year. Into my passion for healthy conversations. For helping others heal. For sitting beside someone in their trauma, holding their hand, and witnessing them come out the other side with a renewed sense of self.

I am surrounded by love, luck, and light.

They say today is meant for positive thoughts only- no fighting, no arguing- lest you disrupt the energy of the year ahead. And I think I needed that reminder today.

I needed a reason to pause the fear.
To quiet the what ifs.
To stop anxiety from running me in circles.

I needed to remember that no matter the outcome….

I am surrounded by love, luck, and light.

I am getting there. Slowly, but surely.

I am doing my part. And I think that’s really all any of us can do.

So, dear reader, take a moment today to sit in the joy of this new year. Imagine what it might hold for you. I truly believe that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is realign with who we want to be- and gently, intentionally strive toward that version of ourselves.
